Denver – the Mile High City as it is known is filled to the brim with attractions that range from the educational to the artistic as well as cultural. But after the sun sets both locals and visitors head out for a night on the town in one of the most exciting cities in North America.

For those who want to relax after a long day – be it of sightseeing or behind a computer at one of Denver’s many world class organizations the sheer choice of where to relax is staggering. Take for instance the Arvada Tavern which has been a fixture in Denver since 1933. A great cocktail menu and bar snacks (and some signature dishes like the Rocky mountain Trout) make it the perfect place to simply sit back and enjoy the ambiance.

Williams & Graham must be among the best known cocktail bars in Denver. Fantastic cocktails which can be paired to some delicious light meals make it the perfect place to spend an evening. This bar oozes old world charm and the ambiance is simply fabulous.

If the visitor to Denver wants to start of an evening of fine dining with a couple of drinks there are worse places to begin than at the ‘Cooper Lounge’ upstairs at Union Station. People watching across the terminal almost goes without saying and the glam atmosphere is gentile and relaxed. The extensive wine list is a joy and the cocktail menu simply begs to be explored. Cuisine is out of the top drawer. highlights include the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare and the White truffled bone Marrow.

Another venerable institution is the Cruise room, which opened 24 hours after prohibition was repealed in 1933. Here patrons can wet their whistles on an art deco environment that offers a fantastic Martini – among other things. Names because it was modeled after the lounge area of the luxury liner Queen Mary this is a venue that should be enjoyed at least once on every trip to Denver.

The Ship Tavern is another old school Denver classic. opened in 1934 this bar still offers excellent seafood, steaks and burgers. Live music is a regular feature and a greats election of micro brews add to the attraction.
